The adhesive ePTFE vent membrane for ABS and EPS motor housings is a precision pressure equalization solution designed to protect the powerful electric motors and sensitive electronics within anti-lock braking and electric power steering systems. ABS and EPS motors operate under extreme conditions of high power, rapid cycling, and environmental exposure. An ABS pump motor on a vehicle's hydraulic control unit is mounted in the engine bay or within the wheel arch area, where it is exposed to water spray, brake dust, and road salt. During an ABS activation event, the motor pulses at high frequency with high current, generating rapid internal heating. The adhesive ePTFE vent membrane solves the pressure management challenge in a compact, easy-to-integrate format. The vent is applied over a dedicated port on the motor housing or ECU enclosure.
