Custom Thickness PFAS Free Membrane Fluorine Free Waterproof Breathable

This is a roll-form, PFAS-free and fluorine-free waterproof breathable membrane designed for converters and large-scale manufacturers. The film is completely free of intentionally added PFAS and is manufactured in a controlled, fluorine-free production environment. It provides high air permeability and water barrier performance, available in custom thicknesses from 0.10 to 0.50 mm. The membrane is suitable for lamination, die-cutting, and ultrasonic welding. It serves as the core functional layer in vent plugs, adhesive patches, and acoustic vents for a wide range of industries.

Converters and OEMs need a bulk supply of breathable membrane that can be further processed into finished vent components. The supply chain must now be PFAS-free to meet EU and US regulatory deadlines. However, most ePTFE rolls are inherently PFAS-containing. Changing to a PFAS-free substrate should not force converters to alter their existing tooling, lamination processes, or adhesive compatibility. A drop-in alternative in roll format is essential.

We produce a fluorine-free breathable membrane roll using a proprietary extrusion and stretching process. The film exhibits isotropic air permeability and can be wound on 3-inch or 6-inch cores. Thickness can be specified to match existing die-cut parameters. Surface treatments allow excellent adhesion to acrylic, silicone, or rubber-based adhesives. The membrane meets IP67 waterproof standards and has passed automotive heat aging tests. It is supplied on moisture-proof packaging ready for cleanroom conversion.

The roll is loaded onto an unwind station. Converters can laminate it with a chosen adhesive film and die-cut it into desired shapes. The membrane’s micropores, formed during the biaxial stretching process, remain fully functional after conversion. When integrated into a vent plug or patch, it allows air and vapor transport while blocking water, exactly as ePTFE does but without fluorinated chemistry.
